The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result for the year 2023 has been published. This standardized test for Nigerian undergraduate aspirants was held on from 14th March 2023 to 4th April 2023. How to check UTME result 2023?

Students can check their result through SMS and official websites. They are required to follow these steps to check the result:

  • First, students need to go to the official JAMB website.
  • After that in the designated box, they need to fill up the registration number or the email id they registered with before the exam.
  • At last, they need to click on the ‘check my result’ icon to get the result.

Another way to know your result is to text ‘Result’ to the number 55019. Before that, students are required to have at least N50 on the SIM card. This SMS will cost N50 and also the SIM card need to be pre-registered for the 2023 UTME/DE examination.

Check JAMB Result Online

Other official procedures before the exam were also filled online this year. Students previously started their online registration for their exam on January 13th, 2023. It lasted till February 17th.

Joint Admission Matriculation Board officials have announced that to maintain social distancing, students this time can print their result notification slip for free. For this convenience, they do not need to go anywhere else. They can download the slip from home with their email id and registration number, though it is not the official result slip with the student’s picture.

The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, Nigeria began in 1978 to have a standardized exam to measure students’ quality. It is 2 hours and 45 minutes long exam administrated by the Joint Admission Matriculation Board. This test is fully computerized since May 17, 2014. In total, students need to prepare for 4 subjects for the UTME exam. The test is taken on English, hence fluency in English is compulsory. JAMB provides a syllabus for the subjects students choose. Students are not allowed to use any kind of electronic device such as -calculators, mobile phones, digital watches, or microphones in the exam venue. This year, a record of over 1.9 million candidates has registered for the UTME examination. Last year this number was a less than 1.8 million. The Joint Admission Matriculation Board head, Dr. Fabian Benjamin stated that this year 41 centers were barred from conducting the exam among 692 centers country-wide.
